The Faridpur Polytechnic Institute is a government-owned technical institute. The institute operates under the executive control of the Ministry of Education(MOE) acting through the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE). The academic programs, curriculums are maintained under the regulation of the Bangladesh Technical Education Board (BTEB). A total of 2300+ students read in this polytechnic. Currently, there are about 62 teachers in the institute. The principal is Engr. Md. Anwar Hossain and the vice-principal is Md. Anwarul Kabir.
There are three residential hostels for students available in this Institute. Two of them for boys and another one is for girls. The condition and the facilities of the hostels are suitable for staying for the students. All the hostel’s names are here.

If you want to admit to this polytechnic institute, you must have some qualifications. First of all, you have to pass the SSC examination in minimum CGPA 3.50 ( for a male student), 3.00 for a female student and an individual GPA 3.00 in higher math or general math.
The Faridpur Polytechnic Institute preserved some quotas at the time of admission. The quotas are, the female quota is 20%, SSC vocational quota is 15%, minor ethnic group quota 2%, freedom fighter 5%, special needs student quota 5%, and 2% for children of officials or employees who are working in Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment.

This polytechnic institute provides an internal scholarship to the student. The student who has passed the semester with a good result he/she got TK 1650 by the regard of internal scholarship. STEP scholarship is also available in this Institute. The amount of STEP scholarship is BDT 4800 per semester. Only some poor selected students get this scholarship.
