Hobigonj Polytechnic Institute was established on 29 October 2002 to spread the technical education to the people of Habiganj district. And the academic teaching of this institute started on 17 September 2005.
Hobigonj Polytechnic Institute is a government technical institute located in Habigonj, Bangladesh. It was founded in 2005. This institute occupies two acres of land. This seminar provides a diploma in engineering courses to the students. After passing the diploma course the students can participate in many development work in the country.
This institute is not providing the hostel facility to the students. The students who come from far may have to stay in the mess or some rental house near the institute.
This institute has a large library that filled with a lot of books like, storybooks, novel books, poem books, and also some departmental books. Students can read these books besides their academic studies and increase their knowledge.
A canteen is a place where a variety of food is available. To meet the food demand of this institute, there are canteen facilities situated for the students. Students take lunch staying in the canteen and spend their leisure period.
Sports should be done to cut the boringness of the student. Bear this in mind, there is a large playground here.
This institute operates through the executive control of the Ministry of Education, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, acting through the Directorate of Technical Education. And all the academic activities of this institute controlled by (BTEB).

To admit to this institute, you have some qualifications and these are first you have to pass the SSC or equivalent exam in minimum CGPA 3.50 and the individual CGPA 3.00 in math or higher math, and your age must be under 22. If you have these qualifications, you can apply for admission.
This institute also reserved some of the quotas. The quotas are 20% for the female students, 15 SSC vocational quota, special needs student quota 5%, freedom fighter quota 5%, and minor ethnic group quota 2%.
