Tangail Polytechnic Institute Short name TPI is a polytechnic institute in Tangail, Bangladesh established in 1991. The institute is located 0.5 kilometers north of Tangail center’s new bus terminal, the eastern side of Tangail – Mymensingh road, in front of two other govt. offices Ban Bhaban (Forest Department of Tangail) & B.A.D.C of Tangail zone. Md. Lutfor Rahaman is currently in charge of the Principal.
This polytechnic institute provides the hostel facility to the male and female students. There are both male hostel and female hostels.
This institute has a pleasant library room filled with various domestic and general knowledge books. The library also contains some novels, poem books. To ensure the institute student with the medical treatment there is a Medical center available in this polytechnic institute.
This polytechnic has a canteen. The students are collect fresh food from here. The canteen also contains some educational instruments like a pencil, book, notebook, etc.
At times, students get bored with studying, there is a big playground here to refresh them. Students can play different kinds of games on the playground of the Tangail Polytechnic Institute.
Tangail Polytechnic Institute was established in 1991 and it started the journey with only 40 students in the first-year classes of diploma in engineering in Electrical technology. The institute stands in a great place today because of the evolution of time. The institute now offers courses in five technologies.
The Institute operates under the executive control of the Ministry of Education acting through the Directorate of Technical Education. Like all government polytechnic this institute’s academic programs, curriculums are controlled under the regulation of the Bangladesh Technical Education Board (BTEB)
Diploma courses are conducted on seven subjects in this institute. The technologies are Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, Electronics, Construction, and Telecommunication. Each of the technology holds 50 seats.

The Tangail Polytechnic Institute conserved some quotas the quotas are 20 for the female students, the students have passed the SSC exam from vocational, 15% quota reserved for them, freedom fighter quota 5%, and minor ethnic group quota 2%.

Generally, the class of this polytechnic managed in shift wise. The first shift start from 08:00 AM and the second shift class starts from 01:30 PM.
